Accessories

Blazblue: Noel Vermillion (Twin Bangles)

The base is made of layers upon layers of craft foam stacked and sewn together with grey thread. Because these bangles have two tones to them, the silver portions here are SEMCO Platinum Silver and Silver Metallic, whereas the darker portions are FolkArt Gunmetal Metallic. The rings used here to attach the red rope extensions of Noel's costume are plated silver book rings. For easy wearing of these bangles, white elastic loops are hidden in the underside of each bangle.

Million Arthur: Sorcery King (Cloak Clasp and Clan Emblem)

The cloak clasp for Sorcery King is a little more unique so for the round portions, I used a combination of craft foam and wirework to form them. Paper mache was used to reinforce all parts of the cloak clasp, then applied with a base coat of Graphicolor White Acrylic. The gold pigment used here is SEMCO Metallic Gold. Gem components are a combination of round emerald green faceted acrylic gems and cached oval golden orange faceted acrylic gems.

As for his clan emblem, I have it hand-beaded on cross-stitch base cloth with 4mm Japanese glass beads in jade green, pearl white and shimmery gold.

SAO: Kirito (Shoulder Harness and Arm Accessory)

Made these accessories for Hubs before he went on ICDS Cosplay Runway Show 2015 as SAO Kirito. Shoulder Harness is made of craftfoam and paper mache. I stacked the embossed parts in a stepped fashion for that extra dimensional feel to them. As for the arm accessory, it's made from the same materials as well. Base coat is KCK Titanium White Acrylic, colour coats are SEMCO Silver Metallic and Nicora Pearl
Silver (S-24).

For the rest of the shoulder harness, it's made from stretchable black grosgrain layered with dark silver bias. Studs on the arm accessory are plated silver handicraft studs.

SAO: Asuna (Boot Armor)

I got a pair of plain white boots off Taobao and modified them into Asuna's "armored" boots. The armor portions are made from craft foam and painted over with a base coat of KCK Titanium White Acrylic. The color coats are Maimeri Platinum White Acrylic and SEMCO Silver Metallic. Eventually I added on an extra layer behind each piece of armor with white velcro for easy wearing.

SAO: Yui (Crystal Form)

Made this for my own Asuna default cosplay and was selling it under my jewelry production for a time a few years back. All materials from KME (Koi Ming, South Bridge Road main branch) - light brown leather cord, plated gold T-Pins, endings, jumprings, lobster clasp and a teardrop-shaped clear crystal (Aurora Borealis variant).

SAO (ALO Arc): Lyfa (Choker)

Like Yui's Heart, I did a tute for both that and Lyfa's choker which you see here. And yes, this was for sale for a time on my jewelry production then as well. Lyfa's choker is made up of two types of white floral laces, emerald green satin ribbon as a base, emerald green acrylic cached gems and a single-terminated forest green crystal. This choker closes with plated silver razor clasps, a rhodium lobster clasp and extension with a single 4mm pastel green acrylic pearl.

Owari No Seraph: Ichinose Guren (Collar Pin)

Something I made recently as an experiement for jumping clay - as recommended by some of my friends. For Hub's upcoming cosplay for Ichinose Guren from "Owari No Seraph", this collar pin is made with a base structure of pink craft foam, black mermaid paper and corrugated board, covered over with paper mache. After which jumping clay was applied on and smoothed out with water. Base coat is Daler Rowney Graduate Acrylic Titanium White, applied over with a mixture of DecoArt Olive Green Metallic and SEMCO Antique Gold. The top "petals" were given the same paint treatment before they were glued on to the base. Afterwhich, the whole collarpin was weathered over with a 5 acrylic paint mixture made up of DecoArt Metallics of Olive Green and Emperor's Gold, SEMCO Antique Gold and FolkArt Metallics of Gunmetal Grey and Solid Bronze. What is interesting is that this combination yielded  a two-tone tinting of rose gold for the collarpin.

A 4mm golden orange acrylic iron-on is then added on in the centre to finish up the whole collarpin setup.

Owari No Seraph: Hiiragi Shinya (Collar Pin) & Moon Demon Company Insignias

Recently had these finished up on the first day of 2016 (New Year's Day, I know). Shinya's collar pin was remade twice due to reference inconsistency. I only had the final design confirmed after watching the final episode of the "Battle of Nagoya" arc. A new internal structure of pink craft foam was made before jumping clay was slapped on and painted over with a base coat of Daler Rowney Graduate Acrylic Titanium White, FolkArt Acrylic Italian Sage, DecoArt Olive Green Metallic and SEMCO Metallic Gold. 4mm and 2mm orange gold acrylic iron-ons were added on as finishing touches afterwards.

As for the Moon Demon Company Insignias, they were slightly more complicated as they were individually cut out of craft foam and painted separately before all the parts were assembled together. Asides from the usual mix, the only other pigment I added on was SEMCO Antique Gold. As you can see, the embossed parts were painted in a different shade to give them a more dimensional look. 4mm and 2mm orange gold and black acrylic iron-ons were studded on afterwards.

Kuroshitsuji: Claude Faustus (Self-Designed, Choker)

Made this choker for a client who had difficulty wearing his original choker as it was too short. Client also wanted a centrepiece which signifies Claude's clan insignia - the spider. I found a brooch with a black gem and mounted it over with a burnished silver spider charm, locking the whole ensemble down with black Japanese seed beads and topaz acrylic crystal iron-ons.

The main choker base is re-made from black velvet and hand-sewn with black spidery lace.

Soul Calibur 4: Kilik (Pendant)

Made the pendant for a friend's SC4 Kilik cosplay. Leather rope, plated gold components and cloudy jade green teardrop shaped pendant form this necklace. Some parts of the necklace is sewn down to his costume in similar brown thread so that it doesn't move too much since he's wearing it for stage performance.

Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles: Sakura (Halloween Commish)

One of my friend's friend commissioned me to make this Halloween-themed TRC choker for her Sakura cosplay. Tried to re-create a piece that is as close as possible to her design and added a bit of personal touch to the choker's black floral lace base with genuine 2mm hematite Swarvoski crystals for that extra shimmer.
